2. He/she will contact a Home Energy Rater like Building Science Incorporated (BSI, for short).
3. For the price of a Home Energy Audit, BSI will test your home in order to produce a model of your home in software, approved by the US EPA Energy Star Program, which analyzes your home’s energy performance. Then, we model improvements to the home and their cost effectiveness.
4. Only the work which saves more money on your monthly energy bill than its cost increase to your monthly mortgage is recommended to be performed and financed by the loan.
5. With your approval, the Mortgage Broker then handles the loan underwriting, the paperwork, contractor disbursements, and the merging of the Refinance and 203k-EEM into one loan.
6. You get a Certificate of Closure which provides the post contractor improvement test data that documents the increased efficiency of your home. There is no guessing; only testing with Value permanently added to your home.
